Packing can sometimes be quiet the ordeal. That is why we have gathered together “Soozys Top Tips For Packing” to show you how you can get the most out of your suitcase.

This is a two part series, first we will talk clothing and in part two we will go over accessories.

Mens Casual T-Shirts

Soozys Scret: To lessen creases, fold multiple shirts together.

Lay like size shirts on top of one another on a flat surface and then fold together. Keep them face in so that any dirt will go to the back of the top rather than the front.

Folding Method:

First fold one side of the shirt inwards toward the middle of the tee and then bring in the other side to meet in the middle. Folding sleeved inward. Then roll from the bottom of the the shirt towards to collar. (Gentle roll, not tight roll)

Mens Dress Shirts

Lay multiple shirts on top of one another on a flat surface.

Soozys Secret: To lessen creases, lay out a couple of layers of tissue paper on the shirt that will be folded to the inside.

Then fold in the same way as the casual shirts.

Mens Shorts or Pants

Soozys Secret: Before folding, button all buttons and zip all zippers.

To fold, fold in half at the inside seam. Then roll the pant upwards from the ankle to the waist.

Womens Casual Tops

Soozys Secret: Heavier clothes/shoes go to the bottom of the suitcase, to prevent delicates from getting mushed.

To fold, lay multiple tops on top of one another on a flat surface. Then gently fold inward the left half and then do the same on the other side so that both halves meet in the middle of the top. Fold sleeves in and gently roll from the waist to the collar.

Womens Jackets/Sweaters/Long Sleeves

To fold, lay down on a flat surface. Then gently fold inward the left sleeve, and the right. Creating a rectangle to work with.

Then just as the t-shirts, fold halfway in the left side of the garment and then the right to meet in the middle. And gently roll from the waist to the collar.

Womens Tank Tops

Soozys Secret: You can use this type of top to pack inside of a hat if you had to.

To fold, lay tank on a flat surface. Then gently fold inward the left half and then do the same on the other side so that both halves meet in the middle of the top. Gently roll from the waist to the collar.

We roll from waist to collar so that all wrinkles (if any) will be towards the waistline which will be hidden.

Womens Pants

Soozys Secret: Place darker colors on the outside so light colors don’t get dirty.
Secret #2: Black and white goes with absolutely everything!

Fold pants in half, similar to mens shorts. Folding in half at the inseam. Lay multiple pants on top of one another, then roll from waist downward towards ankle. This will keep any wrinkles toward the bottom of the pant.

Womens Blouse

To fold, lay garment on flat surface. Then fold sleeves inward on top of one another.

Soozys Secret: Make sure line of the sleeve doesn’t go past the seam of the shoulder. This will prevent a severe line on the wrist.

Now you have a perfect rectangle, you can fold in the left side of the garment to meet in the middle and then the right side to meet in the middle and roll from the waist to the collar.

**the first thing you should do when getting to your destination is pull out any blouses or delicate dresses and hang them.

Womens Satin/Delicate Dress or Romper

Soozys Secret: The best thing to lay in the back of a satin/delicate dress is a dry cleaners bag.

Lay garment on flat surface and lay down the dry cleaners bag. Then fold in one side toward the middle, and adjust the sleeves. Lay sleeves so that they are pointing upward.

Do the same on the right side, and then roll from bottom to collar.

** If there are any small creases, then hang the garment near the bathroom. Allow the hot steam to press out any wrinkles.

Womens Sun Dress

Lay garment on flat surface and bring one side of the dress toward the other, folding it in half. Then fold in once more creating a long skinny rectangle.

Gently roll downward from collar to ankle.

Womens Jumpsuit/Pantsuit

Lay garment on flat surface and bring one side of the garment toward the other, folding it in half down the middle. Then fold in both sides once more creating a long skinny rectangle.

Gently roll downward from collar to ankle.

Packing It All Into The Suitcase

Start with heavier items like shoes, casual tops, pants etc. Nicely fit everything against one another. Then lay lighter more delicate garments over the heavier items. Finally add in toiletries and other odds and ends.

Utilize pockets and compartments in the suitcase for toiletries.

Soozys Secret: Another great tip is to use gallon zip lock bags. They are great for pre-planning outfits, just fold items and place in baggies and label them.

You will find that taking the extra time to go through this process will elevate the headache of packing. This also allows you to keep your garments safe and looking the best they possibly can.

We hope this will be helpful for you and your next trip! We would love to see any pictures or comments of how this packing method worked for you.
